The Town of Bethel is seeking a Project Manager to support the Public Works Department with day-to-day operations and to advance capital projects from planning to construction to enhance Town infrastructure. A motivated candidate with a strong background in Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or Architecture is preferred. Transportation, Urban Design, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, Geographic Information Systems, or related degrees will also be considered. In this role you will collaborate with and manage design consultants, architects, engineers and contractors on a daily basis, review proposals to award bids, oversee conceptual design development, review and edit CAD files, and create plan sets for facilities such as pedestrian facilities, roads, bridges, recreational facilities, public buildings and drainage projects.

The ideal candidate for this position is hardworking, conscientious, very proficient in CAD drafting software, familiar with GIS software, skilled at interpreting design documents and topographic/boundary maps, and an effective communicator with the ability to plan, organize and direct projects in a diverse range of infrastructure planning and engineering disciplines. A strong understanding of all aspects of the design process is required. A professional license in Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or a related field is desirable. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar will also be considered. Knowledge of Complete Streets principles and practices and familiarity with Connecticut MS4 requirements is desired.
