Opportunity in the Planning Division of the City of Hartford to advance the City's major transportation projects and traffic calming efforts. 

This position is responsible for expanding the city's bike network and usage, coordinating reviews of streetscape and trail designs, initiating traffic calming pilots, overseeing studies, administering state and federal grant funding, managing the City's micromobility program and more. The City of Hartford has a robust Complete Streets policy, Bicycle Master Plan and Vision Zero awareness. The Bike-Ped Coordinator will shape related policy, advocacy and implementation on a day-to-day basis. Numerous bike and trail projects are in various stages of completion, as well as multi-billion-dollar state transportation projects, which this position will help guide and represent to local residents and stakeholders. Community outreach through various forums is integral to this position and project delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transportation planning, policy, project management and leading community engagement. Attendance at evening meetings as needed.
